Mommy Makeover

Moms sacrifice so much for their children – including, in many cases, the shape of their bodies. Pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing can cause irreversible changes to the silhouette, symmetry, and overall appearance of a woman’s body, no matter how often she exercises.
A “Mommy Makeover” is a unique series of procedures that is designed specifically for mothers – often including a combination of abdominoplasty, breast work, and liposuction. Although each case is unique, some techniques that may be combined include:
- Abdominoplasty/Belt Lipectomy
Sometimes referred to as a “tummy tuck,” this procedure also involves the removal of excess fat and skin. Some cases may also require repair to weakened or disconnected abdominal muscles. The overall result is a flatter, more firm and smooth shape to the abdominal area. A belt lipectomy involves a circumferential lift which involves the abdomen and back.
Additionally, one or a combination of the following may be used to restore the natural appearance of the breasts:
- Breast Augmentation
Augmentation mammaplasty involves the use of silicone or saline implants to restore or enhance the contour, shape, and fullness of the breasts. Augmentation is sometimes performed at the same time as a breast lift procedure.
- Breast Reduction
Reduction mammaplasty involves the removal of skin and breast tissues to reduce its size. This can result in a more aesthetically pleasing proportion, and can also relieve pain and pressure on the back and neck.
- Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
This technique involves removing, tightening, and reshaping the skin and surrounding tissue to raise and firm the breasts, providing a more aesthetic and natural contour.
And, typically, some liposuction to firm and tone the silhouette:
- Liposuction
The removal of fat via a suction device can be used on select patients and is often performed as an adjunct to the other procedures described on this page.
